The Most Electrifying Rock Album Of The Year
Northern Ireland is no new to awesome bands, and history repeat itself with yet another gem of a rock band from Belfast “Black Opal” With their debut album “Divine Accusations” Out On March 21 2025.
Black Opal are a 4-piece rock band based in Belfast whose sound primarily fuses melodic and riff laden guitar, matched by poignant, biting lyrics, backed by a pulsating rhythm section of guitar, bass & drums. Formed in 2022, they began working on and developing a series of songs that would go on to form the basis of their debut album, ‘Divine Accusations’. The album offers an honest take on the group’s major influences while exploring themes of love, loss and aspects of the human condition. Their music pays homage to their love of riff heavy melodic rock. With more than a nod to the classic sounds of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, the rock & alternative music scenes of their youth, the heavy sound of 90s grunge & indie Britpop underlined by punks musical honesty and in your face, do it yourself appeal.
The album proved itself that it has been evolved with hardwork and masterminds of music, with a great delivery of pure rock songs that blows the mind away of the listener.
Why this album sounds so amazing, The Vocals of David McCann is just beautifully awesome, the melodies and soft soothing vocals just melt the heart away. Speaking of the music, Shane Diamond just blows away with his magic of lead guitars which blends beautifully with the Vocals of David McCann, Shane You are a diamond mate. Phil’s Bass is felt wonderfully well and Sean did a great killer drums and given such awesome backing vocals to the songs.
How the album sounds magical to the ears, 12 songs, beautifully handpicked for the album and the bring the classic rock back into the scene, to treat both the classic lovers and modern lovers of music, they just evolved the art of the music of 70’s, 80’s and Alternative to have a touch of Classic and modern touch to the song, and above all the musicianship is a masterpiece with amazing riffs and solo’s that can be felt everywhere in this album.
Divine Accusation is the best for the year in the Rock Category, If. you haven’t checked it yet, You better as I’m rooting for Black Opal, These guys are legends.
