Rooted in nu-metal groove but sharpened by modern aggression, BLACKMARKET combine pounding rhythms, deep synth layers and anthemic vocals to craft a sound that is both nostalgic and forward-facing. With shades of Lorna Shore’s scale and extremity, the rhythmic punch of Fever 333, the driving groove of Stray From the Path, and the uncompromising weight of Knocked Loose, the band fuse intensity and atmosphere into a sound that feels deliberate, modern and unmistakably their own.
Fraser Burrow, lead vocals, comments about their gripping new EP, Radical Views: “Genre bending and fierce. This EP is here to showcase our range. The core is classic BLACKMARKET, jaw-breaking lyrics and electronics that come with a bite. But this time, we’ve embraced our metal influences more. Reaching deep into our contempt and turning it into gut-wrenching, hard-hitting Metal.”
Firstly though, the diverse heavyweights unleash their compelling new single, Asphyxiate. Fraser comments: “This track is all about punishing guitars, militant drums, and vocals that shift from feral brutality to controlled menace. Taking inspiration from metal kings like Will Ramos, we pushed heavier than ever with our vocal range. It’s confrontational, relentless, and unapologetically us. Built for pits, pressure, confrontation, and proving who we are.”
Known for their dynamic live performances, BLACKMARKET channel the same energy from studio to stage, translating dense, groove-driven compositions into immersive, high-impact shows. With Radical Views set to follow in May, the band continue to expand their distinct, genre-blending identity, solidifying their place in the modern UK heavy scene.
