BLOOD OF THE EARTH (EX-CROWBAR) REVEAL HAUNTING NEW SINGLE “THE CONSTELLATION”
New EP Beneath A Sky That Breaks Arrives October 23rd
Doom/post-metal trio BLOOD OF THE EARTH, featuring former members of CROWBAR and THE CONVALESCENCE, have released their new single, “The Constellation,” the latest offering from their forthcoming EP, Beneath A Sky That Breaks, arriving independently on October 23rd.
A striking example of the band’s continued creative evolution, “The Constellation” revisits a composition originally featured on their debut EP, rebuilding it from the ground up with a renewed sense of purpose. The result is a sprawling, dynamic track that moves between moments of restraint and explosive heaviness, capturing the band’s ability to push beyond the traditional boundaries of doom and post-metal.
Katie Golden reflects on the song’s progression:
“‘The Constellation’ has transformed significantly since its original instrumental version on our first EP. Bringing lyrics and vocals into the song gave it a much deeper meaning and intensity, while the revisions allowed us to really explore what the song could become. It feels like we finally brought it to life in the way we always imagined.“
Jeff Golden adds:
“‘The Constellation’ comes to life with atmosphere, haunting sounds, and heaviness from the vocals of both J Costa and Katie. They each bring something completely different to the song, and when those voices come together with the heaviness of the music, it gives the track a much stronger identity.“
“The Constellation” follows the band’s recent reinterpretation of MINISTRY’s industrial metal classic “Filth Pig” and the previously released original single “Petrichor.” Together, the tracks offer a compelling introduction to Beneath A Sky That Breaks, a five-song collection that finds BLOOD OF THE EARTH expanding their sonic palette while maintaining the raw power and uncompromising heaviness at the heart of their sound.

Founded by married musicians Jeff Golden (ex-Crowbar) and Katie Golden (ex-The Convalescence), alongside vocalist J. Costa (Thy Will Be Done), BLOOD OF THE EARTH draw from doom, sludge, post-metal and industrial influences to create a sound that balances immense sonic weight with unsettling atmosphere and emotional intensity.
Recorded with producer Ryan Boesch (Melvins, Whores), Beneath A Sky That Breaks marks an ambitious step forward for the trio. Across five tracks, the band explores the interplay between distortion and melody, crushing rhythms and eerie electronics, building a collection that is as immersive as it is heavy.
