The Hard Rock band Bloody Dice hails from the Danish capital Copenhagen. Four experienced musicians founded this band. I couldn’t find out exactly when. After two singles in 2020, the EP “Roll The Dice” was released one year later. Two years later, the self-titled debut album was released. In June of this year, the album ‘2’ was released.

‘Cry For War’ starts with a powerful bass line. Later, guitar and drums kick in. The song would also shake larger arenas. Something similar can also be said about ‘Maze’. A rousing mid-tempo Rock song. ‘Break The Cycle’ is a little slower, but with a strong Blues edge. With the stomping Hard Rock of ‘The Bitch Is Crazy’ there is also an increase in tempo. Another powerful bass as an introduction, but then things really take off with ‘Madness’. With a huge guitar solo. And a chorus to sing along to. The song ends with bass and a dirty laugh. ‘Back To Hell’ is then downright aggressive. The guitar playing is a little reminiscent of Motörhead. ‘Unspoken’ is similarly tough. But with a catchy guitar hook and melodic vocals. ‘Struggling To Breathe’ is characterised by pounding drums and hard guitar riffs. What a slide guitar introduction. ‘Don’t Know Where Were Going’ is often strongly reminiscent of Southern Rock. In the closing ‘Face The Truth’, the guitars fry to the slightly raspy vocals of Dagfinn Joensen. Once again, the chorus is easy to sing along to. And what a strong guitar solo we hear.

Behind the uninspiring title ‘2’ hides a strong Hard Rock album. Ten very good and varied songs can be heard, with a groove that is simply captivating. Producer Flemming Rasmussen did an excellent job in the Sweet Silence Studios and gave the whole thing a fat sound.
