It was a normal early morning at the local Slammy’s pancake house, the low hum of conversation, the occasional rattleof dishes and flatware, the soothing, southern drawl of the waitress taking orders…but that was all about to change. Near the front of the restaurant, a young hoodlum pulls a gun from out of his jacket and begins spraying bullets about the place. In terror, The Man jumps up and shoves a young pregnant woman out of his way into the hail of bullets. When silence once again reigns, lying upon the ground, now dead, is the young pregnant woman, her unborn child and The Man himself. The Man finds himself in the most dire fight of his existence….the fight for his immortal soul.

Gathered in Darkness is a concept of Michael “Dr. Froth” Millsap‘s brain. In time, Dr. Froth gathered various musicians, many from the local Houston metal scene. With the addition of doom legend, Robert Lowe, the concept began to take shape in reality. Blending progressive metal and elements of doom, Gathered in Darkness promises to be an incredible journey that the listener can visualize in their mind as they listen. I had been hearing of this concept band since the early days of its creation and with the first lyric video release, I can attest it is even more brilliant than I could have conceived.
