Coroner – Launch lyric video for “Consequence”;
“Dissonance Theory” album out now!
Swiss pioneering technical Metallers Coroner are finally releasing their new studio album “Dissonance Theory”, a first effort with new music after more than three decades, today worldwide via Century Media Records.
“Dissonance Theory” is receiving amazing response from worldwide media and, among others, the album has been winning soundchecks and named “Album of the Month” in prominent magazines such as:
Rock Hard (Germany)
Metal Hammer (Germany)
Deaf Forever (Germany)
Rock Hard (France)
Aardschok (The Netherlands)
Hammerworld (Hungary)
Rock Hard (Italy)
Congratulations!!!
Germany’s Rock Hard magazine suitably noted the following in their 9,5/10 points album review: “’Dissonance Theory’ isn’t some shallow retro trip, but an uncompromising statement from a band unwilling to rest on its own legacy – and that’s exactly why it sounds larger, sharper, and more assured than so many of thrash and prog’s
well-known self-imitators”.
Today, Coroner stress the album’s release day with the launch of a clip for its first song “Consequence”, which fuses clinical precision with hypnotic intensity. Check it out in a lyric video created by Cloud Motion Design here.
Coroner’s guitarist, songwriter and producer Tommy Vetterli checked in with the following comment about “Consequence”: “Consequence is our take on the madness of modern progress. What began as a technical track turned into a reflection about where blind innovation can lead us”.
And added about the “Dissonance Theory” album: “The writing process for ‘Dissonance Theory’ began with the raw energy of returning to the stage post-Reunion, and with our own deep curiosity to explore what Coroner would sound like today. Looking at it now, it’s definitely a new chapter, but without compromising our DNA”.
The previously release two singles off “Dissonance Theory” can still be seen here:
“Renewal” (Official Video)
“Symmetry” (Official Video)
“Dissonance Theory” contains 10 new songs across 47 minutes, recorded by Tommy Vetterli at New Sound Studios in Switzerland and mixed/mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden (Opeth, Kreator, Amon Amarth, etc.). The album’s cover artwork (to be seen above) was created by Stefan Thanneur / www.manifeste.net
(Skeletonwitch, The Lurking Fear, Year of No Light, etc.).
