Danish alternative rockers DECORATE. DECORATE. release their brand new single/video “A Sun”
“Who wants to be clean at nineteen?”
In 2007, Decorate. Decorate. took the alternative rock scene by storm with razor-sharp, symphonic soundscapes and electrifying live performances. In an era dominated by Myspace, the band rose from obscurity to claim the top spot on Denmark’s Det Elektriske Barometer for eight consecutive weeks, play Roskilde Festival, and captivate audiences across the country. Their poetic take on post-punk burned bright – but all too briefly – ending just three years after their inception.
Now, they are finally back.
“I’ll reflect the light of your woven hands
as they caress the surface of my only skin.”
After more than a decade apart the original lineup reunited, joined by Kristian Nygaard Olsen (formerly of Oh No Ono, Christian Hjelm), for a one-off reunion show at Loppen. Playing to a packed, sweat-drenched venue of 400 devoted fans, it became clear – Decorate. Decorate. still had something to say. That realization led them to Grapehouse Studio with producer Brian Batz, where they began shaping their upcoming full-length album, “CLEAN”.
1st SINGLE: “A SUN”
“A Sun” reflects on the aggression of religion and the insistence on life without an imaginary entity – with only the sun keeping us alive in a godless world. The violent clash of guitars and deep, pounding drums underscore the song’s dark themes. And still the preachers insist that “the club is open.
It is not.
“A Sun” is out today on all streaming services and can be heard here. The video premiered earlier today via Rock Nation from Italy, and Rock In Spain from Spain, and can be seen below as well.
Lineup:
Asbjørn Auring Grimm – vocals
Martin Rasmussen – guitar
Christian Mathiesen – guitar
Jan Kromann – bass
Viggo Clausen – drums
Kristian Nygaard Olsen – keyboards
