EIDOLA SHARE ALBUM CLOSER “NIFLHEIMR” STREAM IT HERE
THE WILL TO POWER ARRIVES NOV. 20 VIA 3DOT RECORDINGS

Eidola have shared a third track from their forthcoming album, The Will to Power (Nov. 20, 3DOT Recordings) with today’s release of “Niflheimr” and another stunning video (https://youtu.be/CjXhsG9ZHmA) directed by vocalist Michael Wells and videographer Mel Torres.

Wells says this of the emotionally-charged new song: “Eidola has always been an exploration of the human condition. Of suffering, love, loss, rebirth, and the relentless pursuit of understanding something greater than ourselves. Every record has been another chapter in a story we’ve spent much of our lives trying to tell, and every chapter has brought us a little closer to understanding what it means to finally let go.”

“‘Niflheimr’ exists in the space between acceptance and surrender,” Wells continues. “It’s about confronting the impermanence of everything we hold dear, finding peace in the things we cannot change, and recognizing that even the most beautiful journeys were never meant to last forever. Having personally lost so many friends and family in the last few years, this song hits home for me deeply. The video itself is a love letter to the fans who have supported us and stuck by us through everything we’ve been through on our journey together.”

The band announced the new album with the release of “Damballah,” a track The Break Down with Nath & Johnny said “this is great… Eidola don’t have the recognition they deserve,” and was followed with the release of two official playthroughs: guitar and bass.

Loosely inspired by Nietzsche’s The Will to Power, the album explores the nature of power and how it has shaped humanity throughout history and continues to shape the world today. Sonically, the band continues expanding beyond the boundaries of post-hardcore, integrating prog, metal, alternative, and experimental elements into the record.

The making of The Will to Power marks a shift in the way Eidola approached songwriting. At the end of 2025, the band traveled to Los Angeles for six days of writing with producer and engineer Stephan Hawkes (Chelsea Grin). Rather than Wells arriving with a wealth of pre-written material, the entire band worked face-to-face, collaborating on songs in real time and letting them develop organically in the studio.

Eidola features Andrew Michael Wells (vocals, guitar, keys), Matthew Dommer (guitar, vocals), Matthew Hansen (drums), Sergio Medina (guitar), Reese Ortenberg (bass), and Skylar Caporicci (guitar). The progressive post-hardcore band, formed in 2011 in Salt Lake City, are known for their complex compositions, conceptual themes, and dynamic live performances. Over their six albums, the Utah-based band have racked up tens of millions of streams while simultaneously receiving praise for their thought-provoking lyrics paired with unforgettable melodies. Punk News said, “What’s unusual about Eidola is their ability to wield melody with such obvious talent, but to twin it with heaviness and complexity…,” Metal Injection noted the band’s knack for “technical magic and catchy ass melodies.” Eidola have released six full-length albums: Mend (2025), Eviscerate (2024), The Architect (2021), To Speak, To Listen (2017), Degeneraterra (2015), and The Great Glass Elephant (2012). Their new album, The Will to Power, arrives Nov. 20 via 3DOT Recordings.
