Founded in 1998, EIGHTH SIN burst onto the scene with a sound leaning towards Swedish Death and Black Metal. Almost two decades later, in 2019, Jesus Santana’s vision revived the project, forming a new lineup to give continuity to their legacy.
The turning point came in November 2024 with the release of their first music video, the powerful “Un Dios Salvaje” (“A Savage God”). Under the direction of acclaimed Venezuelan filmmaker Luis Rodríguez, the video featured a powerful performance by Rafael Jiménez, a benchmark of Butoh dance in Venezuela, and the multifaceted American artist Diane Foster, known for her collaborations with figures such as Glenn Danzig and her starring role in the horror film “Easter Bloody Easter”. The synergy of these talents, together with the vision of Federico Hernandez, a versatile Venezuelan musician, pianist, composer, arranger, producer and producer, and restorer of keyboard instruments, elevated the visual proposal to a new level.
“Un Dios Salvaje” not only captivated the specialized critics in Venezuela, receiving praise from Sergio Monsalve, Luis Bond and Humberto Sánchez Amaya, but also the Spanish writer José Ángel Barrueco. The repercussion transcended borders, even being applauded by Vincent Crowley, iconic figure of the international Extreme Metal and leader of ACHERON and VINCENT CROWLEY BAND, who highlighted the impact and relevance of this production.
