On their forthcoming LP Security, Louisville dark punk stalwarts FOTOCRIME go for a more aggressive and furious tone.  The album’s second single “Unthinkable” is an examination of our current state of geopolitical panic and impending global conflict, inching towards total annihilation. The track kicks off with a smashing drum performance by none other than Jay Weinberg (Suicidal Tendencies, ex-Slipknot) with double-time hi-hats and tribal thunder in full swing. With that indestructible skeleton in place, the track is further bolstered by a Cold War-synth stab and the throat of one bona fide legend (Barney Greenway of Napalm Death). In all, “Unthinkable” hits the sweet spot of luring you to the dancefloor while simultaneously coaxing you to light it on fire.

FOTOCRIME mastermind Ryan Patterson says the song is “…a dystopian anthem about the horrors facing the world.  On ‘Unthinkable’ we are honored to be joined by our friends Jay Weinberg and Barney Greenway, who both lend their immense talents to the track. Jay is one of the world’s foremost heavy music drummers and the crushing groove he brought to the song perfectly hammers alongside our pummeling drum machine. Jay elevated our mechanical rhythms and makes this one of our most exciting songs yet. Legendary Napalm Death singer Barney Greenway graciously joins in on co-lead vocals through the last half of the track; hearing his voice on this song gives me chills. Barney is an inspiration on many levels and it’s such an honor to have him on this song.”

Formed in 2017, FOTOCRIME have released five EPs and four albums, and on Security, Patterson is joined by new members Benjamin Clark on guitar and David Cundiff on bass. Security also features appearances from drummer Jay Weinberg (Suicidal Tendencies, ex-Slipknot), legendary vocalist Barney Greenway of Napalm Death, all three members of the band Sumac, Nick Theinman and Evan Patterson of Young Widows, Nico and Phab of French dark punks Bleakness, and a cavalcade of veteran Louisville artists. Musician and noted producer J.Robbins also performed on several tracks and sat in at Patterson’s the House of Foto studio to co-produce, engineer, and co-mix the effort.

Security will be out on March 13th— pre-order now on Bandcamp or from Auxiliary / Shirtkiller directly here.
