Just less than a year and a half has passed since ‘Rock’n’Roll Church’, and now the follow-up, ‘Intruder’, is already on its way. The album was recorded at House of Voodoo in Stockholm back in spring 2025. Robert Pehrsson was responsible for the sound mix at Studio Humbucker. After a long hiatus from 2007 to 2023, things are now moving at a rapid pace for the Swedish band.

Just like its predecessor, the title track opens the album. ‘Intruder’ starts with a short instrumental crescendo, with the guitars gradually pushing their way to the forefront. Later, Olle Hillborg’s occasionally raspy vocals are accompanied by riffs and rhythmic drumming. On ‘We Can Go Higher’, the Swedes go a little harder and a little faster. Melodic 80s Rock “n” Roll with very good guitar solos. The slightly bluesy ‘Rollin’ In Hollywood’ is also an invitation to Rock radio stations to include songs by the Glorious Bankrobbers in their playlists. ‘Rabbit Hole’ follows as a fast Hard Rock song. ‘Come Rain Come Shine’ is another song that starts with a classic fade-in. Walls of guitar are laid under the vocals. The rest of the album is also dominated by ‘good mood Rock’, which is repeatedly peppered with punchy guitar solos, whether it’s ‘Black Jonas’, the rocking ‘Ready For The Good Times’, “Down” with its calm riffs, or the Hard Rocker ‘Vampire’. With “You Let The Devil In”, you can quickly sing along to the catchy chorus. Shortly before the end, ‘Jane’ is a ballad that invites you to dream, while the Rock‘n’Roll song “Starstriped Western Boots” with its guitar solos provides an atmospheric finale.

Actually, I could draw the same conclusion as I did with ‘Rock’n’Roll Church’. Glorious Bankrobbers are firmly rooted in the Hard Rock and AOR of the 80s. And they celebrate it brilliantly. Nothing has changed in terms of the short length of the songs either. The Swedes consistently deliver their musical style with constant quality.
