The Hall Of Gods project, conceived by the talented musician Rafael Agostino, has just released the track “Guarany (Sons of The Forest),” which is now available along with an impactful music video. This work is a tribute to the Brazilian composer Carlos Gomes and the indigenous Guarani peoples, addressing the colonization of Brazil from the perspective of these peoples.

The track features special performances by Marcello Pompeu and Mayara Puertas on vocals, bringing a new dimension to the music. Production and recording were handled by Rafael Agostino, while mixing was done by Henrique Canalle. The release is promoted by Abigail Records. The music video was filmed in the Guarani village Tekoa Pyau located in the Jaraguá region.

Rafael Agostino emphasizes that choosing a Brazilian composer for homage was essential from the project’s inception. “Carlos Gomes was the first musician/composer with international recognition. In this track, which addresses the opera ‘Guarani’ and other works by the composer, I made a reinterpretation both musically and thematically, bringing the indigenous peoples into a more current and realistic approach,” he explains.

Additionally, Agostino mentions that this same year, the famous opera was presented at the Municipal Theater with a conception by indigenous philosopher and writer Ailton Krenak, making this coincidence even more significant.

The collaboration of Marcello Pompeu and Mayara Puertas was crucial in bringing the track to life. “They brought all the synergy to the studio, adding ideas for lyrics and metrics during recording. The Portuguese section sung by Pompeu stood out not only for its language but also for its strength and interpretation,” Agostino adds.
