Hebephrenique – Australian Blackened Death-Metal Force Share Entire New Album “Decathexis” Via Decibel Magazine.

Australian death-metal outfit Hebephrenique are now streaming their entire first full-length, Decathexis, ahead of its official release this Saturday, August 23rd, via Gutter Prince Cabal and Brilliant Emperor Records.

The album is now playing at Decibel Magazine, who hailed it as “a manic, at times dissonant and atonal, musical assault that may seem like total chaos, but is actually quite meticulously written, arranged and performed. Guest drummer Leo Graae holds the insanity together with incredible precision and dexterity, offering Hebephrenique’s material a solid foundation for the off-the-rails sonic explorations. The tracks flow from beautiful to horrifying seamlessly.”

If you missed it, watch the video for “Visions of Magdalene” at this location.

Decathexis builds on the warped foundations of their psychotic, delirium-inducing debut EP Non Compos Mentis EP, diving deeper into madness, a dizzying whirlwind of spite-fueled vocals, mechanical precision, and hypnotic ambience. The album’s technicality is sharper, the aggression more suffocating, and the emotional chaos more vividly unhinged. Think Gorguts by way of Mayhem, filtered through Anaal Nathrakh’s violent theatrics and a heavy dose of dystopian dread.

Out August 23, 2025 on LP, CD and digital formats via Gutter Prince Cabal and Brilliant Emperor Records.
