Hollywood Guns “Guns ‘N Roses Tribute” – live in der Klangbar

Location: Klangbar Hamburg Bergedorf
Date: 09.05.2025

It’s only been a week since I was in the Klangbar. This time it was the Hollywood Guns, a Guns ‘N Roses tribute band. Guns ‘N Roses celebrated their greatest successes at the end of the eighties / beginning of the nineties. After that, the band went quiet. It wasn’t until 2006 that the musicians dared to make a new start. However, the great comeback only came with the reunion in 2016. There are certainly many tribute bands now. And one of them are the Hollywood Guns. You can see all the pictures from the evening on Flickr.

You could see many of the Gunners’ trademarks, the chequered headband and Axl Rose’s red and white chequered shirt wrapped around his waist, for example. However, I sadly missed the top hat that was and is the trademark of guitarist Slash (Saul Hudson). Musically, the old times were revived. However, singer Axl Rose’s vocal range was not always correct fitted. But that’s not easy either, his vocals are too unique. But that didn’t detract from the atmosphere in the only moderately filled Klangbar. Quite the opposite! There was a lot of applause, especially for the great Gunners hits. Especially in the second part of the show with hits such as ‘My Michelle’, ‘November Rain’, ‘Sweet Child “o Mine’ or the last song of the regular part ‘Knockin” On Heavens Door’. Afterwards, an encore was vehemently demanded. After four additional songs, the show came to an end at around 23:00.

Track list:

Even if not every note was 100% right, the musicians had fun and the audience had fun. And that’s what counts in the end! The evening was a deep bow to one of the greatest bands in Rock history. As usual, the sound and lighting in the Klangbar were excellent, as was the service at the bar. Once again, a big thank you to everyone involved.
