“Insidia” Breaks Barriers: CG Project Delivers a Powerful Message of Transformation in Spanish

The Venezuelan Rock/Metal band CG Project, currently composed of Cesar Ash (Guitar), Oscar Guédez (Drums), Greg Méndez (Keyboard), Jorge Perfetti (Vocals), and Gerardo Romero (Bass), released their latest single “Insidia” on July 11, 2025. The track combines the power of hard rock with elements of fusion rock and progressive metal, offering an intense, modern sound experience full of identity.

This single marks a turning point for CG Project, as it is their first release entirely in Spanish. With this, the band seeks to connect more directly with their Spanish-speaking audience while offering listeners from other parts of the world a unique alternative, featuring well-structured melodies, intelligent rhythmic work, and flawless execution—all translating into a powerful yet refined musical piece.

“Insidia” was produced by CG Project, with mixing and mastering handled by Miguel DeDonato of Probos Studios in Maracaibo, Zulia, Venezuela.

The single is accompanied by an official music video, filmed at the iconic Legislative Palace in the city of Maracaibo—a historic building in neo-Renaissance style—and directed by filmmaker Gustavo Cohen in March 2025.

This audiovisual piece represents the third collaboration between CG Project and Gustavo Cohen, who also directed the videos for “She’s The Danger” (filmed in 2018 and released in 2019) and “Running In Circles” (filmed and released in 2019), solidifying a strong and consistent visual partnership over the years. The graphic design was done by Luis Reyes, a well-known Venezuelan portrait artist and professional photographer.

The song’s narrative unfolds around an internal transformation triggered by the analysis of one’s own suffering and the overcoming of obstacles. The lyrics convey a positive and self-discovery message after experiencing dark situations caused by toxic personal relationships, highlighting the importance of recognizing and healing emotional wounds in order to grow and evolve as human beings.

Founded in 2016 in Maracaibo, Venezuela, CG Project has carved an artistic path that spans from instrumental experimentation to creating songs with a strong personal identity. Their discography includes the instrumental album “Running In Circles” (2019) and the EP “Breakthrough” (2023), both well received by the public and music press.
