No doubt about it, a distinctive fighting spirit is an integral part of Jet Jaguar’s DNA: The four-piece from Mexico are one of the most promising metal newcomers of 2025 and have survived a dramatic line-up change just as effortlessly as the difficult lockdown years and – you could say: as a dramatic climax – a serious traffic accident in autumn 2024 during their tour with Anvil. At the end of the day, all of this has helped the band to grow tougher and more mature. Now the release of their second album ‘Severance’ is about to prove how important passion and perseverance are for an ambitious metal act.
The most significant new addition to the Jet Jaguar fold is vocalist Raiden Lozenthall, whose distinctive voice gives the current material additional depth and urgency and has ensured more varied songwriting. “Raiden’s voice is much more flexible than that of his predecessor,” explains Lozano. “His vocal style is very melodic but also includes death metal grunts, giving the songs an even more expressive flair. Raiden’s vocals are incredibly powerful and he also plays the guitar, which means we can now perform two-part solos live on stage.”
With the sophomore album “Severance” to be out on October 24, I had the pleasure to chat with Jimmy Lozano on the album and much more on the release and touring. Check out the complete coverage on the below You Tube Video.
