DERHEROLD is a heavy metal art project by musician and artist Olav Däumling, which is designed for three albums with the overarching title “Arcanum”. The basic idea is based on a hero’s journey of the figure of the “HEROLD” as a mediator between all art elements, the music and the audience.

The hero’s journey, in turn, is based on the tarot, which is why the themes of the songs are determined by the tarot cards. In addition to the music and the tarot cards, the overall concept also includes a comic, which will be available in limited form for the first album release, as well as a presence on all relevant social media.

The first album “Arcanum I – RAGE” was out on March 7, 2025, and contains 14 songs (+ intro for “Rage”) that are mostly set in the rock and metal genre but are musically extremely varied and thrilling. You won’t find predictable mainstream rock on the album, but rather a bold mix of different styles that follow a clear line, not least because of the vocals and the homogeneous production.
