Interview | Freedivers

What was the beginning pint for your music career? How did it all start?

It all started in the middle of 2019. I bought a guitar in a thrift store and started experimenting, got some interesting riffs and got help to keep going. That’s how the first songs emerged. then I knew that I needed a band to continue with the project.

Was there any bumps on the road? What kind of challenges did you have to deal with?

Yes, there always are. Basically the loss of interest and the abandonment of some members of the band, but this strengthened the project. New members emerged and the band moved on.

What was the most fulfilling and satisfying moment so far?

There are several, but I remember when our first single came out, it was great. It was a situation that I enjoyed a lot.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

Our music is quite dark and energetic. It has huge grunge influences, mainly alternative rock songs. It goes from soft ballads to powerful big band songs. We love our acoustic sounds.

What is your creative process like?

It usually starts with an interesting riff that we then structure, then we create a melody and then we work on the lyrics, maybe not a very orthodox method, but it’s our way.

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

Well, I think the industry needs to be shaken up, even today there are many problems from the past that make it difficult for true talent to prosper and reach society. Fortunately, many things have changed, but there is still a lot to do.

If you were asked to give a piece of advice to upcoming bands, what would that be?

Don’t stop trying. I believe that perseverance is success. Believing in yourself and in what you do is very important and will help you achieve your goals.

What has been the best performance of your career so far?

There have been several, I could not be objective. Each one is a unique experience that remains stored in memory, with its particularities. I think we would all agree on that.

If you didn’t become a musician, what would you be doing now?

In my particular case, I have always been linked to sports activities, lately I was closely linked to mountain activities, hiking and trail running. I suppose I would continue to enjoy the mountains and life in nature.

What is new with the band at the moment? What are you currently working on and would like to sharewith the world?

We are currently working on a new single that will be out very soon, and a promotional video for it. We are also preparing a concert in acoustic format for next Spring.
