Greetings from Metalheads Forever Magazine, I’m Keith Clement, How are you today?
Hi Keith, thanks for the invite. I’m fine and I hope you’re fine too. I am very pleased to tell you about the musical project “Ice Suckers”.
You released your self titled album “Ice Suckers” would you like to tell me about the songwriting and production behind it?
During these 30 years with “Anguish Force” I had many projects. I did a Thrashcore album with Urban Violence, a Neoclassical Metal album under the name “L&L” plus other collaborations. Now it was time to try an 80’s style Hard’n’Heavy project. So it was that I wrote the songs for the debut of the “Ice Suckers” personally taking care of all aspects and inviting a lot of musician friends to participate.
Does it have a concept or theme the album was focussed on?
I wanted the free and light-hearted spirit of the eighties to be present from all points of view. So the lyrics are about fun, women and broken hearts. I realize that no one will ever study Ice Suckers lyrics in college because they aren’t challenging subjects. But that’s what I wanted, just powerful Hardrock that hits with its energy and that’s it. However, this is not a concept album.
11 Hard Rock, with a classic glam touch and great energy flowing throughout the album, How as a band do you feel about the outcome?
The result gave me a lot of satisfaction because it was exactly what I was aiming for. I’ve been dreaming of doing this for a long time and I finally did it.
How is the touring coming up for end of 2022 and 2023?
At first it was supposed to be just an isolated project. But I’ve been lucky enough to have some friends who, in addition to being excellent musicians, have been very enthusiastic about joining this project. So now the Ice Suckers are a real band and when the second album is done we will definitely organize some events to play around
Would you like to tell how it all started and how you all got together as a band?
It all started when these very good friends of mine heard the debut and came forward to record a sequel with me. The emotion was even greater and in a very short time we were already preparing to record the new record. I am satisfied with the songs but even more with sharing them with these amazing guys.
What would be some of the upcoming plans for the band?
Meanwhile finish the new album. Then focus on a deserving single to make us known to an even greater audience. Once this is done, the complete disc will be released which I can tell you will be very good.
How do you look into the future?
I look to the future with a lot of positivity. I couldn’t do otherwise after the songs we recorded. I hope the public feedback does us justice. The second Ice Suckers album is certainly superior to the first even if I still judge the debut as a great work.
What would be some of the highlight moments for the band?
The real highlights are yet to come. For now I enjoy the preparations for this second album which are proving to be very exciting. I received so many compliments on the debut and I expect even more for the next record.
Finally what would be the message for the fans?
Listen to Heavy Metal because it’s the coolest thing in the world. And of course listen to the Ice Suckers. You will not regret it. Heartfelt greetings to all of you. Rock on and Metal rules!!!
