What was the beginning point for your music career? How did it all start?
“It started in high school when we were 14 years old. After a class, I asked my drummer Vince if he wanted to start a band with me, he said yes. We never stopped playing together since then. A long story of love!! (laughs)!”

Were there any bumps on the road? What kind of challenges did you have to deal with?
“Oh yes!! Many!! First of all we are based in France and we sing in English. It’s always hard to be airplayed on french radios because of that. Like many other bands we went through rough times, changing members of the crew, it’s always complicated!! But hey! We’re still here!! (laughs). The biggest challenge for a band is to survive years. Because everyone has a life and wants different things. But we try to communicate a lot inside the band to stand together and face every problem.”

What was the most fulfilling and satisfying moment so far?
“The most satisfying moment for us was maybe during the European tour in 2018 at the Hills of Rock festival in Bulgaria. It is a rock / hard-rock / metal festival and we were kinda the only band playing pop-rock music there. We were headlining the second stage, but we were afraid that the crowd would not appreciate our music. Finally, it turned out to be a great show in front of thousands of people, the audience was incredible.”

How would you describe the music that you typically create?
“We play an Indie Pop/Rock sound but we add some Electro sounds. We have a very wide genre. We can go from a very Rock song to a very unplugged one. I like to think that we explore a lot of different atmospheres, a lot of different colors.”

What is your creative process like?
“I don’t have a precise creative process when I compose new music. Most of the time, it comes to my mind out of nowhere. Days, and nights. I have a melody in my head or the instrumental parts, sometimes both. So I take my piano or my guitar and I start playing it. Inspiration is everywhere for me. In my feelings, in my observation of the world or society, in the past, in my memories. Or just when I see something that inspires me at one moment. I
usually start with a melody. Then I take an instrument (piano or guitar) and then the lyrics. But sometimes it’s the opposite as well (laughs) !

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
“Give more opportunities and exposure to really talented people instead of always looking for a one shot commercial hit. And try to find new ideas to fit the market better today. The people controlling the industry are sometimes offering old visions that are not working anymore with the economic and business situation.”

If you were asked to give a piece of advice to upcoming bands, what would that be?
“Trust yourself, always. No one knows you better than yourself. Make mistakes, overcome them, try again. Repeat. And work hard, always. Talent without work won’t get you far.”

What has been the best performance of your career so far?
“My answer will be weird but I think that our best performance is when we played once in a concert almost empty. It was after 10 days of tour, we were tired. And playing in front of almost no one takes you way more energy. So, I think it’s a big perf to do that, and rock an empty place (laughs)!!”

If you didn’t become a musician, what would you be doing now?
“I would probably finish the book that I’m writing. Create companies. Try to build something with my own hands, but always filled with creativity. To escape a bit from reality.”

What is new with the band at the moment? What are you currently working on and would like to share with the world?
“The 3rd of July we will release a new EP called “(Be)For Tomorrow” and open an e-shop with all the Reaven’s products. We’re trying to reschedule our 3rd European tour & 1st US tour + Central / Latin America. A new music video is about to be filmed. Also, we’re giving our 1st show since the beginning of the Covid in France on the 22nd of July. We can’t wait to play again in front of our audience!! Also, we will release our new album in 2022, when we will be able to tour properly!!

And one thing I want to tell you guys is that we miss you a lot!! And we hope to meet you again soon on the road!! Thank you!! “
