Dying Oath is a melodic metalcore band based out of Rural Retreat, Virginia. Fierce and energetic, they look to harden their footprint in the surrounding metal scene.

Originally formed in 2018, drummer, Ryan Endicott, and lead guitarist, Josh Hagee, started writing music together. Their chemistry mixed very well, with each other being able to communicate and make songs in typical musician fashion. Through several auditions and searching, they came across Jacob Richmond, who played the drums, and at that point, Ryan decided to move to guitar. With that, they then decided on Jeb Baxley for clean vocals and not long after, they moved in on their second vocalist for screams, Mindy Jackson. After looking for a bassist, Jacob and Mindy brought in Ryan Matney, who had played in a band with them years before.

Even though the band is newer with a full line-up, they are excited to showcase their talents and stories in their upcoming debut album that is set to release mid to late 2020.

You have a new album out, Tell us about it! Where was it recorded? Is all the material new?

Some was recorded at the practice space, some at Josh’s house in his living room.

What is the biggest difference between your last release and the new one?

The amount of heaviness, and it’s only going to get heavier.

Are you signed to a label? If so which one and how did they help or support the process?

            No we are unsigned.

5.What has been going on with the band between albums? Did you tour?

We have played a couple shows so far and have a few scheduled for the future.

Do you have any new members?

No other’s since me. I was the last member to come in on bass.

Who produced the new album and how did they effect the album?

Josh has done all the recordings and rough mixes and right now we’re looking into having someone mix and master the songs now.

Some like to record naked or in the dark with candles, Did you have any strange studio practices?

Cigarettes and a couple big cans of monsters. Plus, joking and cutting up with everyone is a must.

Of course tell us where to pick up your album and how to learn more about you.

The album will be available on all social media and any show we play. Anyone who would want to learn more about me just has to go to our band page or family page and shoot us a message or even look me up on Facebook or Instagram.

What is your plans now that the new album is out?

Hopefully, late summer of this year.
