Here is Bang Your Head, one of the Jolly Jackers’ most dynamic and serious songs. A unique critique of the system, and a unifying force that encourages you to sing along. It’s the first track from the upcoming album.
“Instead of providing solutions to global problems, world leaders are only busy with their own power games. The sheep are nodding along mindlessly and pressing the voting buttons, and we can only bang our heads against the wall. We wrote it a year and a half ago, and unfortunately it has only become more and more relevant every day.” – JJ
“We recorded the song at Matyi Botlik’s Grenma studio. We went to record a demo for four of our songs to see how we were doing, but Matyi said he doesn’t make demos. 🙂 In return, we drove him crazy because we recorded everything live, which is not easy because of the folk instruments, and the vocals were also recorded in real time. We didn’t really mess around, we started at four, and we were already packing our stuff at nine. The poor guy got a little dizzy, then said that we could have prepared better. :)”
The band will also perform at the Belgian Trolls and Legendes festival and a club in Luxembourg next week. Of course, they will also visit a couple of German festivals in the summer, and towards the end of the year they will tour in Austria again as the Fiddler’s Green’s guests.
“Last year we had a very strong year. We did 19 concerts abroad alone, played to a lot of people, traveled a lot, released 16 songs, and wrote new ones in the meantime. We do all the organizing ourselves, so we’re slowing down a bit this year. Of course, that means a new album, music videos, and 12 concerts abroad.”

For those who don’t know who we are:
The Irish folk punk band, which is 13 years old this year, regularly performs at European festivals and clubs. They had more than 400 concerts in 15 countries, and recorded 5 albums so far. They have more than 5 million streams on Spotify, from more than 140 countries. In 2024, there was a big change in the life of the band, the previous six-member team was reduced to five, and the founding flutist/whistle player of the band, Rea, took over the role as a frontgirl, so the team now has 2 boys and 3 girls, which is a unique lineup among bands.
