Italian black metallers Amthrya have released “Shūdan Bōrei”, their brand new single, accompanied by an official lyric video.

The track is the first official single taken from Onnen, the band’s upcoming album, due for release on 11 October on digital platforms and as a digipak CD via Ad Noctem Records.

“Shūdan Bōrei” (集団亡霊) takes its story to the shores of Izu, where history and legend collide. In the aftermath of a Second World War bombing, 250 people are said to have been swallowed by the sea. Ten years later, their unresolved rage transforms the victims into executioners.

Driven by an unrelenting grudge, the ghosts of Izu drag the living into the depths, trapping them in an endless cycle of death.

Italian black metal band AMTHRYA return with their new album “Onnen”, set for release on October 11th, 2026 via Ad Noctem Records. The album will be available on digipack CD and across digital platforms.

Fronted by Kasumi Onryō, AMTHRYA are known for dissonant atmospheres and imagery rooted in Japanese folklore and mythology. “Onnen” opens a new chapter for the band and arrives alongside the introduction of a revamped line-up.

The album takes its title from the Japanese concept of Onnen (怨念), understood as deep-seated rancour or persistent hatred. AMTHRYA use that idea as the foundation for a record centred on hatred as a physical, metaphysical and universal force.

Structured as a five-act opera, “Onnen” follows that force as it spreads through reality, fuels wars, poisons spaces and eventually drives the world towards ruin.
