Power metal scholars Judicator released their highly anticipated new album, Concord today, March 28, to all major platforms! In celebration, BraveWords exclusively premiered the brand-new visualizer video yesterday for “Johannah’s Song”—giving listeners an early glimpse into the band’s latest epic.

“This song is just lovely. It depicts a young woman with a great family, a great life in general, but however good things may be at home, a call to adventure still burns within her. There’s a tension between the desire to stay where it’s comfortable and the need to go out and wrestle with the world,” writes Judicator singer John Yelland.

Taken from Concord“Johannah’s Song” captures the album’s defining themes of self-discovery and personal struggle, blending Judicator’s trademark soaring melodies, intimate storytelling, and powerful musicianship.

The accompanying visualizer, filmed by Kade Baker, features a lonesome woman in a highly stylized alleyway, wreathed in fog and vibrant colors.

With ConcordJudicator has crafted one of their most ambitious and introspective works to date. The album dives deep into the complexities of the American experience, weaving historical and personal narratives into a grand, high-energy power metal epic. Fans of Blind Guardian, Iron Savior, and Rage will find much to love in Judicator’s latest offering.

Concord was released worldwide today, March 28, just one week prior to the band’s debut performance in Europe, at Epic Fest“I can’t think of a more special way to celebrate our new album,” says guitarist Chad Anderson. “Performing in Europe has been a personal goal of ours since we first became musicians. We think that Epic Fest embodies the future of metal festivals, and we’re thrilled to be a part of it.”

Produced by Carlos Alvarez and Yelland, Anderson, Lofgreen, and clocking in at over 50 minutes, the 8-track Concord is Judicator’s first full-length album since 2022’s The Majesty of Decay

Judicator is one of modern power metal’s most dynamic, up-and-coming bands. Since their formation in 2012, the band has become well known for their intricate character studies about historical figures like Napoleon Bonaparte and Frederick the Great, as well as personal explorations of life and loss. Their new album Concord explores ideas and themes centered around the American West.

Concord is an epic exploration of American identity, blending historical events, folklore, and themes of cultural disconnection. With powerful storytelling that navigates both awe and tragedy of the American West, the album confronts the complexities of survival, power, and loss, offering a deeply resonant and thought-provoking journey through the nation’s fractured heritage.

Over seven albums now, Judicator have continually expanded their musical horizons. Their album The Last Emperor featured a guest appearance by Blind Guardian’s Hansi Kürsch, and in 2024, they had the surreal opportunity to open for Blind Guardian in Salt Lake City on their God Machine North American tour. From their humble beginnings to global recognition, Judicator continually demonstrates why they are indisputably one of power metal’s most innovative acts.
