Roll The Dice
Out: February 14th, 2025
Playing time: 20:57
The British Heavy Rock band Leadfeather was only founded this year in London by guitarist Simon Hurts. And thanks to their electrifying live performances, they have been able to build up a loyal fan base. Blues and Rock from the 60s and 70s are cited as influences. The debut EP ‘Roll The Dice’ will be released in February.
The title track ‘Roll The Dice’ already spreads a Rock’n’roll atmosphere. Apostolos L’s powerful voice is a perfect match. Deeply tuned, contemplative guitars dominate the short instrumental interlude ‘Silver And Feathers’. ‘Higher’ then switches back to guitar-driven Rock’n’roll. With some quiet passages. ‘Danger Zone’ is a mid-tempo rocker. With slightly deeper-sounding vocals. And a strong guitar solo. Ohohoh choruses introduce the rhythmic ‘Shoot For The Stars’. Here, too, we are in the mid-tempo range. Of course, the electric guitar dominates again. The crowning finale is the power ballad ‘Why’.
Between quiet Heavy Rock and good old Rock’n’Roll. That’s how you could categorise ‘Roll The Dice’. The songwriting is varied. I would like to emphasise the expressive vocals of Apostolos L. And he is accompanied by very good musicians. This debut EP makes you want more.
