Vocalist Laur Lindmäe shares about the inspiration for “Venetian Dark”:
“Venice itself holds a profound history of resilience – falling and being reborn many times.
Ingeniously built atop a lagoon to thrive amidst water, the city continuously battles the forces of nature: sinking foundations and encroaching tides. Despite being slowly devoured by the sea, it people persist in preserving its beauty, culture, and history. The album tells the story of a journey through darkness and despair toward a new state of being – a possible transformation or rebirth.”
He shares as the inspiration for “Endless”:
“There’s something about the way they look at me now. Like I’m a symbol of something I neve agreed to. A shape. A signal. A convincing surface. I’ve kept quiet long enough for them to mistake that for agreement. I’ve stood in their ceremonies, watched them raise empty words like banners. I echo their language without saying anything of my own. Not because I believe, but because it’s easier than being exposed. They don’t want truth. They want symmetry. Clean lines. No noise. I can still feel – The thing they’ve forgotten how to name. And I know they see i flicker in me, even if they don’t understand it. Maybe that’s why they keep me close. Maybe that’s what they’re afraid of. Society moves like a machine: polished, efficient, and emotionally numb. It performs belief bu doesn’t feel it. It repeats the shape of meaning, but not the soul of it.”

About Pridian
Initially formed in 2018 by guitarists Jörg-Erik Hanikat and Martin Randalu, drummer Robert Leht, and completed by singer Laur Lindmäe, who joined in 2021, Estonian band Pridian quickly evolved their very own style and take on modern metal. Having released an album called “The Rotten Unknown” under their name ÆØNS in 2021, the band was nominated for the “Metal Album of The Year” at the Estonian Music Awards and built the foundation of what’s to come under their new name. Rebranded as Pridian, the band released their debut EP “Cybergnosis” in the fall of 2023 and constantly elaborated their unique sound. Their modern take on industrial soundscapes, metalcore, and catchy hooks made them known in the rising Estonian metal scene and beyond. Just one week before opening Sunday’s mainstage at the infamous Euroblast Festival in Cologne – their first-ever performance in Germany – the band announced their signing with German metal label Century Media Records to release their brand new single “Near Dark”, embarking on a new chapter of the band’s history.
