UPRISING! Records is proud to announce the signing of the Portuguese band ALLAMEDAH, which will release a new EP, titled “Alma”, later this year.
Known for their well-crafted mix of groove metal and progressive elements with a modern twist, the combo is operated by the core duo of David Bitton (vocals, guitars) and João Faria (drums), with Hugo Campelo (bass) and João Corceiro (guitar) completing the lineup.
“This is a significant milestone in our journey as musicians and we couldn’t be more excited about what the future holds“, David comments. “UPRISING! Records shares our passion for music and our vision for where we want to take our sound. We’re confident that their expertise and support will help take our music to new heights and reach a wider audience. We can’t wait to get started and share our music with the world with the help of UPRISING! Stay tuned for updates on our upcoming releases and shows!“.
“Above all, thanks to ChatGPT for writing this amazing text!“, he laughs. “On a more serious note, we are very ‘ORGOLHOSOS’ that UPRISING! Records, a German label under the umbrella of Target Group, has opened its doors to a Portuguese band that sings in Portuguese. We know that this is unusual, and for that reason we are extremely grateful for your openness. To show our gratitude, the Pasteis de Nata are on the house every time they come to Portugal“.
The first Allamedah single under UPRISING! Records will be released in May. The “Alma” EP is due this Summer.
Allamedah is a Portuguese metal band, founded in 2016 by singer and guitarist David Bitton and drummer João Faria.
The group’s sound is evidently marked by modern metal and the fusion with other musical genres, such as fado and rap, as demonstrated by the collaborations on the songs “Algema”, with fado singer Valéria and the Portuguese guitar of João Luzio; and “Incerto”, which featured rapper Jayneto. They sing mainly in Portuguese and English, with the occasional use of Hebrew.
