Ben Blutzukker feat. Liv Kristine – Crucified

Review By Rainer Kerber

One year ago, there was the first collaboration between dark rock guitarist Ben Blutzukker (real name Ben Schmitz) and singer Liv Kristine Espenæs (Liv Kristine, ex-Theater of Tragedy, ex-Leaves ’Eyes, Midnattsol). This time the multi-instrumentalist took on the song “Crucified” by the Army of Lovers. This song appeared on the album “Disco Extravaganza” in 1991. The female singing part was contributed by Camilla “La Camilla” Henemark. But Liv Kristine is exactly the singer who can transform the disco spirit of the nineties into the metal of now and today. And which date is more suitable to be crucified than Easter? Of course, a remarkable video with Lego figures was released for this song. A playing tip for everyone who loves disco metal, for all fans of dark rock / metal and of course for fans of the two protagonists.
