Beyond the Pale, the death/thrash metal outfit from the Netherlands with a pinch of black, and brimmed with soul-purging riffs, is unstoppable. The band just dropped a new music video, this time filled with feisty pirates for the track ‘Walk the Plank’. Check it out on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5U53BzcV48
Following ‘The Age of the Pariah,’ ‘Storm en Drift’ and the remix for ‘Facts and Figures’ by acclaimed Japanese musician Frost (Gods of Decay; Godfrost), ‘Walk the Plank’ is the fourth single released by Beyond The Pale from their debut EP ‘Monument in Time’.
‘Walk the Plank’ depicts a narrative of rebellion and resistance against a corrupt and oppressive authority, particularly targeting women. The lyrics describe the struggles of those trapped in a system dominated by unfair and unjust individuals. ‘Walk the Plank’ is a powerful call for resistance and (female) empowerment, with individuals standing up to their oppressors. The pirates symbolize their fighting spirit and determination to reclaim control of their own destiny.
The song was recorded and mixed at Mass Audio Studios (Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy, Charlotte Wessels of Delain, Bloodgod, Mark Jansen of Epica and Mayan, Daniël de Jongh of Textures and Karmaflow, Metropole Orchestra, etc) in Utrecht.
It was mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios (At the Gates, Sepultura, Amon Amarth, Carcass, Sakis Tolis, Kreator, Dark Tranquility, Devin Townsend, etc) in Sweden.
