THE EXILE IS DUE OUT MARCH 25TH VIA SONIC UNYON RECORDS – PREORDER/PRESAVE HERE!

Today, the doom duo Mares of Thrace return with the release of “All In Her Glory”, the second single from the group’s upcoming album The Exile out March 25th via Sonic Unyon Records. Listen to “All In Her Glory” HERE and watch the visualizer HERE. Album pre-orders/pre-saves HERE!

“The entirety of the record was written with us in different cities, and isolation (geographic and otherwise) is a theme woven throughout. ‘In All Her Glory’ is about realizing you can never go home again because your home has turned into someplace you don’t recognize anymore… perhaps it never was what you once thought it was,” explains Thérèse Lanz (vocals/guitar).

The album and accompanying short story are about being cursed to wander without a home for all time. Lyrically, The Exile encompasses both the content of the short story and Lanz’s life between the last record and now. The short story was written by Jana Sloan van Geest (writer on several blockbuster video games including Assassin’s Creed: Origins and Horizon: Zero Dawn) and illustrated by Lanz herself. Lanz also mixed and produced the album.

Last month, the band released the album’s first single “Mortal Quarry”. The track saw support from Brooklynvegan, Invisible Oranges, Exclaim Magazine, Ghost Cult Magazine, The Tinnitist and was added into rotation at idobi Howl and George Strombo. Listen to “Mortal Quarry” HERE!

MORE ABOUT MARES OF THRACE:
Formed in 2009 by Thérèse Lanz (vocals/guitar) and Stef MacKichan (drums), Mares of Thrace released their debut album, The Moulting, the following year. Produced by Sanford Parker (Nachtmystium, Pelican, Yob), it was critically acclaimed and a hit at campus radio, as was its ambitious follow-up The Pilgrimage. Their sophomore album was a three-act Biblically inspired tale weaving the historic melodrama of King David’s relationship with Bathsheba around Lanz’s grinding riffs and MacKichan’s juggernaut percussion. Supporting those albums, the band logged tens of thousands of miles touring across Canada and the USA and received rave reviews from noted publications such as Exclaim Magazine, Decibel, Terrorizer, Blabbermouth, Magnet, and PopMatters.
