NEW SINGLE “CARRY YOU”
Rahway – New Jersey is ready to hit those dark alley streets once more, to defend their title as The Slumlords of New Jersey with their newest single, “Carry You.” Right from the moment, lead singer Nick Hade provides that smooth yet aggressive bite – the listener knows they’re in for a decadent rock treat. “If you’re listening to Rahway then you know rock’n’roll ain’t dead,” says Tommy London of SiriusXM/Boneyard/Hair Nation. Brass knuckles out and chains swinging, “Carry You” pulls you in.
Then there are those opening riffs courtesy of guitarist David Cardenas, who also adds, “[It’s] thunderous with ball-shaking bass and drums.” But the axe-man knows his way around his weapon of choice and he does not hold back; showcasing talent reminiscent of Stone Temple Pilots and Slash.
“It’s epic,” adds bassist, Chigger. “A writing experience from the darker side of creativity.” True. This latest single and the EP to follow were composed during the pandemic, which pushed the band out of their comfort zones. Creativity in the face of challenges always produces worthy fruits.

“We grew influenced by the sounds of Arena Rock. So, naturally when we write our songs, our hooks tend to be big and memorable in the vein of Arena Rock. If you know the music of Rahway, you know that songs like “Carry You” belong in an Arena! Or at the very least a very large club with the crowd singing the hook back to us! It’s just in our DNA at this point! “Carry You” tells the story of a person who was carrying a loved one through life, or so they thought, because in the end, it was the loved one doing the real heavy lifting. It is an epic story. One that we’ve all been through in life, because we’re all selfish beings and not realizing that without others in our lives, we can’t survive.”

David Cardenas, guitarist, his brother and drummer Steve Cardenas, along with vocalist Nick Hade and bassist Chigger, had to overcome the adversity of releasing their 5-song EP, Slumlords of New Jersey, in the middle of a pandemic featuring the widely popular songs “Sugar,” “Stone,” “Only The Strong” and “Acetalyne.”
Fully capturing the spirit of today’s DIY musicians, these four badasses, with their musical genius, do something truly revolutionary in the rock-n-roll scene. Their music holds fist pumping and grinning sexual innuendo, with choruses that ring in your ears from the first listen and hooks that boomerang through each song. Embodying the down-to-earth Jersey roots, but rolling the rock to a whole other edgy level. Rahway has been an enormous part of the East Coast music scene, playing shows with such rock greats like Buckcherry, Slash, Three Days Grace, Godsmack, Stone Temple Pilots, Puddle of Mudd, Skid Row, KIX, Ace Frehley and they even shared the stage with Missing Persons one time. They’ve done high profiled gigs like sold out show with Greta Van Fleet at the F.M. Kirby Center, as well as venues like Dingbatz, Stone Pony, Crocodile Rock Café, Starland Ballroom and played the inaugural Food Truck and Rock Carnival in Clark, NJ in 2015 and the inaugural Rock ‘n Derby Festival in Schaghticoke, NY the following year, where they left the crowds in amazement.
Rahway’s innovative and ever-evolving songwriting makes them one of the most eminent bands of our time. Influenced by legends such as Led Zeppelin, Guns n Roses, Skid Row, Godsmack and Motley Crue, their fusion of power is gaining them popularity very quickly. They are impressive and imminent!
In 2023, Rahway is set to release a round of brand-new music in the form of singles culminating in a new EP featuring songs like the ball rocking “Carry You,” the catchy hooks of “Drowning,” the head bopping “Cats Away” and the arena rocker “Rocketship.”
