Comastatic sign to Hopeless Records
New single Self Sabotage featuring Down and Out is out now
Zurich based alternative rock outfit, Comastatic, continue an exhilarating year by announcing their signing to Hopeless Records and sharing the first single on the label, Self Sabotage.
Talking on their signing to Hopeless Records, Comastatic vocalist Mattia Di Paolo shares, “We’re beyond excited to announce that we’ve signed with Los Angeles-based record label, Hopeless Records! The bands on the Hopeless Records roster have shaped us as musicians and as people, and we’re stoked to start this new chapter with such an amazing team!”
Working alongside producer Stevie Knight (Stand Atlantic, Yours Truly), Self Sabotage sees Comastatic create a high-powered and infectious new offering which features guest vocals from Australian pop punk outfit Down and Out.
“Self-Sabotage is a raw exploration of the tension between outward perfection and inner chaos,” explains Mattia Di Paolo. “The song breaks down the paradox of having an ideal life but feeling constantly unsettled by an underlying mental struggle. It talks about the harmful choices that come from this inner battle and the career that makes things more complicated. By facing the emotional struggle of sabotaging one’s own happiness, the track exposes the difficulty of finding peace, even when everything seems to be in place. It’s a straightforward look at the fight between being content and feeling uneasy inside.”
Self Sabotage follows a run of single releases that has seen Comastatic take the internet world by storm. Recent singles Toxic Energy, Fix It All, Coma and ‘Misery’ have all combined to surpass 700,000 streams worldwide. The latter saw the duo team up with Swiss compatriots All To Get Her, having joined forces onstage at Greenfield Festival and Summerside Festival this summer.
Formed in 2022 by singer ‘Mattia Di Paolo’ and Guitarist ‘Giuliano “Jules” Luongo’.
Comastatic, encapsulates the feeling of watching the world falling apart being powerless to alter its course. Being caught in a paralyzing equilibrium between existence and inertia, taking listeners into their own realm where chaos meets vulnerability. In 2022 with nothing but a dream, Comastatic created a vision, giving a voice to everyone caught in the motions.
The pair took a leap of faith, travelling over 6000 miles to Los Angeles to work with notable producers Stevie Knight (Stand Atlantic, Yours Truly), Jon Lundin (Fever333, Point North,) and Matt Malpass (Blink-182) before unleashing the project in May, 2023 and now set out to empower those who are too afraid to raise their voice on their own.
