‘The Verdict,’ is the first single from itSELF’s upcoming album ‘The Absence’, set to be released May 26th. The song is a poignant yet uncompromising story about the sin of Wrath after an unfortunate woman is finally pushed too far from her experiences at the hands of her abusers. Both musically and lyrically raw and eye opening, the song is a bludgeoning example of the brutality that can be expected from the band’s upcoming full-length release.

ITSELF began in 2005, formed by Brazil’s own RICARDO FALCON and ESTEVAN FURLAN. Unfortunately, the band came to a sudden halt in 2013. RICARDO, who’s pedigree includes having recorded bass/guitar for death metal legends SINISTER and touring as a session guitarist with BELPHEGOR for 150 concerts, did not let his drive and determination die. The band is now set to release their upcoming album, ‘The Absence,’ fourteen years after their 2009 debut album, ‘Make My Heart Suffer.’
Today, the band is backed by three well known musicians within the scene: CARSTEN ALTENA from THE MONOLITH DEATHCULT, LINUS KLAUSENITZER from OBSIDIOUS/ex-OBSCURA, and JASON PEPPIATT from PSYCROPTIC.
The new album’s lead single, ‘THE VERDICT,’ is as musically honest, brutal, and harrowing as the song’s subject matter and video.
