EMPTY TO RELEASE MADE OF FIRE ON OCTOBER 22 THROUGH SOLID STATE RECORDS
BAND SHARES NEW SONG “TEMPORARY HIGH” — LISTEN
South Carolina alt rockers Empty will release their sophomore effort Made of Fire on October 22 via Solid State Records. Pre-order it here.
The band has shared the new song “Temporary High,” a catchy anthem with a chorus that will embed itself in your cranium for weeks at a time. You’ll find yourself singing the refrain hours after you’ve turned the song off. Listen here.
“‘Temporary High’ is about a toxic, on-again, off-again relationship where you both know you bring out the worst in each other, but you keep coming back together trying to make it work,” the band offers about the song’s core meaning. “It’s always good in the beginning and feels so right. But inevitably, you both know in the back of your minds the relationship is destined for failure.”
Made of Fire follows the band’s debut, Hope and the Loss of It, which introduced Empty to the scene. Empty are known for climbing the rafters at shows and writing genre-bending tracks that are wholly unpredictable. The new album siphons influence from pop, screams, ’00s rock, metalcore, and more. It’s quite a sonic thrill ride. Ultimately, the album is a journey through heartbreak and hopelessness — themes to which many fans can relate.
Empty’s music is anything but on this emotionally honest, 11-track opus.
