fakeyourdeath unveil brand-new A/B side featuring new single ‘Hello, I’m Feeling Hostile’
Brighton’s electronic post-hardcore duo fakeyourdeath have today released a brand-new A/B side – the follow up to the pairs debut EP ‘null/void’ (released April 2024). The A/B side features the vicious new single ‘Hello, I’m Feeling Hostile’ and it’s haunting B-side ‘The Was Actually Quite Murderous’ both of which look towards the pain humans inflict on each other to serve themselves; a subject fakeyourdeath find fascinating but always unsurprising.
“‘Hello, I’m Feeling Hostile’ is an important track for me both musically & emotionally”, opens fakeyourdeath vocalist Candi Underwood. “At its core, it’s the outpouring of the grief, anger and disgust you feel when those closest to you betray you. It’s unapologetic, more vulnerable than we’ve gone before and almost cruel at times. It’s ugly but I love it”
Known for their captivating and dramatic live show, fakeyourdeath have kickstarted their domination by playing show with the likes of Empire State Bastard, Graphic Nature, Zand, Frontierer, St Pierre Snake Invasion, Saint Agnes, Lake Malice, Tokky Horror and appeared at Arctangent Festival in summer 2023.
To coincide with the release of their new A/B side, fakeyourdeath will play a special release show in London, as part of Worn Out Tuesdays at Sebright Arms. Full details below:
Tues 5th Nov – Sebright Arms, London UK – Free Entry (support TBC)
Created as an angry rant about how much the world sucks right now and how we as humans feed that state, fakeyourdeath released their debut EP ‘null/void’ in April 2024. Influenced by the likes of HEALTH, nine inch nails and youth code, the singles from the EP went on to be featured on the official Kerrang! chart, Knotfest’s ‘Pulse of the maggots’ playlist and Metal Hammer’s ‘Best new songs you need to hear right now’. They were also ‘Featured artist of the week’ on Alex Baker’s Fresh Blood show on Kerrang! Radio, Track of the week on BBC Radio 1’s Introducing Rock with Alyx Holcombe, awarded Total Rock’s debut single of the year & included in Metal Hammer’s roundup of the ‘Best metal songs of the year 2023’.
