After releasing their infamous boyband cover “EVERYBODY (BLOODBROS BACK)” on all official streaming platforms in September, the metal outfit Blind Channel will be having their own documentary titled “Blind Channel: After Dark Side” on December 16th, 2024. The series, named after their success single “Dark Side”, will feature never-seen material, following Blind Channel’s journey towards world conquest. Through five different episodes, the documentary will reveal the rigours of touring life and record-making, all while pursuing international success. The series will be released on Yle Areena (Yle’s VOD-platform) and will be available for 6 months worldwide (until June 16th, 2025).

The documentary also will be the last content from the band for a little while: Blind Channel will be going on a break after 2024 wraps up with the clear goal to focus on what the future holds – when they will be back, is currently still undecided.

The band shares about the documentary & their upcoming break:

During the last 4 years we have experienced more than we could’ve ever dreamed of. After two full-length studio albums and 300 shows all over the world it’s time to blow the candle before it burns from both ends. We’ve decided to go on a break after the end of 2024, not sure for how long, but it’s time to take a step back from the spotlight to ponder what the future holds. Thankfully the madness of the past few years has been thoroughly and carefully documented: After Dark Side -documentary comes out in December. It’s a brutally honest overview to the band’s wildest years, the everyday life of the band members, the ups and downs – all of it. Before the break you can see us live on our two week tour in the UK and of course on our exceptionally rare club tour across Finland in November/December. Our humblest gratitude goes to our fans for all your support over the years. What a journey it’s been.”

The Finnish band gained international acclaim over the past three years, particularly after their breakthrough in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. Representing Finland with the song Dark Side, Blind Channel achieved sixth place in the competition, which accounts as the second-best result ever for Finland. Dark Side garnered millions of streams and brought them a dedicated international fanbase that continued growing throughout 2022. Their rising popularity also led to increased live performances, including tours across Europe that helped solidify their status as one of Finland’s most exciting musical exports. Around this time, they signed a worldwide record deal with Century Media / Sony Music, which further boosted their international reach.

In July 2022, Blind Channel released their highly anticipated album Lifestyles of the Sick & Dangerous. It was well-received by both fans and critics for its high energy and intensity, with tracks like Bad Idea and Balboa becoming instant fan favorites. This album represented a significant milestone in their career, showcasing their ability to evolve while staying true to their unique sound.

With their 2024 record EXIT EMOTIONS, the band continued to push the boundaries of their unique ‘violet pop’ sound. The album hit No.1 on the Finnish album charts, which marks another milestone for the group.  Both musically and thematically, EXIT EMOTIONS showcases the bands’ evolution and rollercoaster ride that comes with an expanding career in music and on the road. The album has been praised for its raw energy and anthemic choruses, with standout tracks like DEADZONE and FLATLINE.

While Eurovision was a catalyst for Blind Channel’s rise to fame, the band built themselves a dedicated fandom and success throughout their 2 records while continuously touring globally.

Next month, Blind Channel will start their “Final Emotions” Tour, which will take the band through a club tour in Finland – a rare opportunity to catch the band in a more intimate setting and experience their headliner set up-close!
