HAUNTED SHORES RELEASE “ONLYFANGS”
DEBUT FULL-LENGTH ALBUM, VOID, ARRIVES MARCH 11 VIA 3DOT RECORDINGS
Haunted Shores, the duo of Periphery’s Mark Holcomb and Misha Mansoor, have released a third, and final, preview of their forthcoming album Void (March 11, 3DOT Recordings), with today’s arrival of “OnlyFangs” (https://lnk.to/hs-onlyfangs).
“’OnlyFangs’ was one of the earlier ideas I demo’d during the writing process for Void,” explains Holcomb. “It was pretty different in its initial stage as a full-on, blast beat riff-fest, front to back – just non-stop. But when I brought the song ot Misha he really steered it into this area where it actually breathed – it had dynamics and it took you on more of a journey, namely that big middle section that anchors the song, and that down-tuned grimy mess of an ending, haha. That kind of synergy between Misha and I actually highlights why it’s so much fun for us to write together in Haunted Shores and Periphery over the years.”
Mansoor and Holcomb previously released two songs from the upcoming release: the “massively atmospheric” (Metal Injection), Opeth-inspired “Nocturnal Hours” (https://lnk.to/nocturnalhours) and “Hellfire” (https://lnk.to/hellfire), a song Guitar World described as “full of thrash-y frustration and hectic, entangled riffing.”
Haunted Shores have also released playthroughs for each of the previous singles, with a playthrough for “OnlyFangs” arriving today at 12 noon pacific/3 pm eastern via 3DOT Recordings’ YouTube Channel. Void pre-orders/pre-saves are available now via the 3DOT webstore. Void was co-produced by Holcomb and Mansoor, with Mansoor also tackling mixing duties. The album cover features a Paoli Girardi painting.
