IN HEARTS WAKE SHARE VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE “HUSK (UNPLUGGED)” — WATCH

GREEN IS THE NEW BLACK OFFICIAL SOUNDTRACK OUT AUGUST 5

Last month, Northern Rivers heavy hitters In Hearts Wake announced the release of the official soundtrack for their powerful documentary Green Is The New Black, due out on August 5 via UNFD. Pre-order it here.

The band has unveiled yet another glimpse of what’s to come via an unplugged version of their grunge-tinged, 2020-released ballad “Husk.”

Watch the video here.

A Ukulele-laden re-imagining of its predecessor, which appears on the group’s 2020 album Kaliyuga, “Husk (Unplugged)” retains the ballad essence of the original, all the while showcasing a stripped-back version of In Hearts Wake.

As for the evolution of “Husk (Unplugged),” In Hearts Wake vocalist Jake Taylor explains, “Kyle, our bassist, received a Ukulele for his birthday from his father, Frank. When we were writing the soundtrack for our feature film Green Is The New Black, we couldn’t look past the idea of reimagining ‘Husk’ as an unplugged track with the Uke as the feature instrument. All hail Frank!”

A glistening addition to the impending release of Green Is The New Black official soundtrack on August 5, “Husk (Unplugged)” joins other tracks accompanying the documentary, alongside some new songs written and produced specifically for the film. The digital release of the documentary will be made available at a later date.
