Director / animator Amy Lucas comments on the video: The animation for ‘Turn it Loose’ focuses on each of InTechnicolour‘s fears. The meaning of the song explores how, over time, dark depressive feelings can become comfortable and complex second homes. I explored that by forming worlds around each of the band member’s individual fears for the viewers to dive into. We all have our own ‘worry worlds’, and often they are sharp thoughts that dwell in the backs of our heads going round and round with no resolution. I found it interesting to put colour, substance and ground to these worries. Maybe visualising our troubles can help us see our anxieties for what they are, our own brilliant imaginations fuelling our own worry.

“On stage, the visuals are out of focus, confusing and constrictive. I took every opportunity to make viewers feel uncomfortable. Each world has an epic backdrop to match the magnitude of the fear. Flesh-eating plants, deep-sea horrors, savage wasp swarms and electric wormy graveyards scattered with discarded dolls heads all made the cut. It feels unique to the band, obviously without them writing this bop, and having these fears, the final video would never have come about. Thanks Intech! Thanks for sharing your fears with me, I hope I haven’t left anyone traumatised”.

Hailing from Brighton, InTechnicolour are a riffy, groovy, rock band with a knack for creating a colourful song or two. Formed in 2015 through a want to play loud music through slightly broken amps, the basis of the band was created.

InTechnicolour are an inventive four-piece comprised of technically gifted musicians, cutting loose and playing music that’s about as far removed from their day jobs as it’s possible to get – and they are doing it better than a good portion of their contemporaries. Landing somewhere between the slack desert-groove of Kyuss and Karma To Burn, the band combine deeply satisfying riffs with a dynamic vocal style, which calls to mind the sounds of BaronessGojira and Mastodon.

InTechnicolour have previously toured across the UK and Europe with the likes of Physics House BandBlack PeaksTown PortalBitch Falcon and Haggard Cat, and are gearing up to hit the road this autumn with dates to be announced very soon.
