Yanez De Gomera may not be a familiar name to everyone. He’s a character born from the creativity of Emilio Salgari, a Portuguese pirate who follows the infamous Sandokan in his pirate adventures as a brotherly friend. The progressive band METRONIMIA has dedicated their new single to this character, now available on all streaming platforms through Volcano Records & Promotion, and on YouTube with a unique and intriguing concept video.

Formed in 2018 as a tribute band to Jethro Tull, Metronimia delivers a highly personal musical offering, infused with old-school progressive elements revisited with an original touch. In “Yanez”, they maintain their distinctive style with a four-minute track that, through a solid melodic-harmonic structure, appeals both to those who seek constant surprise and shifts in progressive rock and to a broader rock audience with its catchy chorus. Choosing Italian for the lyrics does not hinder the project’s international potential; rather, it opens up opportunities to explore vibrant foreign markets, following in the footsteps of great Italian progressive rock bands from the ‘70s that influenced the evolution of the genre worldwide.

As for “Yanez”, the song makes a strong impression, showing a maturity that belies the youth of the band’s members and promising even greater things from Metronimia in the future. Meanwhile, enjoy the music at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keyBHaMQS9Q.
