Vancouver-based recording artist JEFF BLACK returns with another scorching power metal track. “Wintertide” features Brazilian progressive rock singer and educator LEO MAIA. Fans of Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Angra and Labyrinth will be right at home with the barrage of galloping riffs, cinematic synthesizers and soaring vocal melodies. In “Wintertide”, Leo tells the story of a cold war, fought in your day-to-day life between yourself and your loved ones.
Like all of his previous singles, “Wintertide” was produced, recorded and mixed by Jeff Black in his home studio. It was mastered by Ermin Hamidovic at Systematic Productions (Stratovarius, Sylosis, Plini, etc) and while the music was composed by Jeff Black, Leo contributed with his own lyrics and vocal arrangements.
This is Jeff Black’s ninth single. Previous songs have featured artists from bands such as SEVEN SISTERS, ADAMANTIS, PROJECT: ROENWOLFE and LYCANTHRO. In addition to his solo material, Jeff plays for traditional metal stalwarts GATEKEEPER and the mystifying metal cult, SPELL. He also teaches music and produces albums for other artists across North America.
