Thirty seven years have passed since the Anialator story began in Corpus Christi, Texas, with a four track demo tape. Two EPs, Anialator and Anialator II followed before the end of the ‘80s, both of which have attained legendary status in underground metal circles, but with the dawn of the ‘90s it seemed like Anialator’s race had been run. However, spurred on by interest from a new generation of fans, the band reunited in 2015 and joined forces with Xtreem Music. A comprehensive compilation of past material was released in 2017 – Mission Of Death – and a third Anialator EP, Rise To Supremacy, in 2018. Now the release that all Anialator fans have been waiting for for so long is finally upon us…that first full length album of unmistakeable thrash metal savagery…Death Is Calling!
In 2024 Anialator have found the perfect balance between retaining their original, charismatic sound of raw sonic violence and lifting everything to the next level of power and proficiency. Featuring seven new tracks, Death Is Calling is that rarest of creations – a new release from a long established band that is unquestionably the finest to bear their name. The opening one-two attack of ‘Kill Til Death’ and ‘Memories Of Terror’ is shockingly potent – hyper aggressive thrash with an array of fantastic riffs and thrilling lead work. Elsewhere the remorseless, unrepentant ‘Iron Grinder’ shifts effortlessly between tempos, conjuring the spirit of chaos with its wild guitar work. Perhaps the finest track on this outstanding album though is ‘Relentless’ – a song of sheer class that blends compelling atmosphere with rampaging riffs and a bestial vocal performance. The truth is, there’s not a weak moment to be found on Death Is Calling; Anialator have fulfilled every fan’s hopes and dreams and silenced every cynic or doubter in the most brutal and effective manner possible.
Imbued with a monstrous power, due in no small part to the mastering magic of the renowned Arthur Rizk (Cavalera Conspiracy, Cro-Mags, Kreator etc), Death Is Calling will be unleashed by Xtreem Music on October 22nd, on CD, 12″LP, cassette and digital formats. This is surely the start of an incredible new chapter in the saga of Anialator – a band who, against all the odds, have returned stronger, harder, faster than ever before. Prepare to be crushed!
