It’s been an incredible whirlwind of excitement for Montreal’s LES SHIRLEY as they announce that they will be opening for the legendary rock band the Foo Fighters in their home city on Monday, July 10th at Verdun Auditorium. The show is now officially sold out. Not only are they opening for the Foo Fighters, but they are also set to take the stage at Festival d’Été de Québec on July 6th ahead of iconic groups Weezer and Billy Talent. This comes hot off the heels of a spree of shows including a stint opening with NOFX, and a slot at Montreal’s infamous Osheaga Festival. On top of the slew of jaw-dropping live gigs, they recently performed on Quebec’s beloved TV program La Voix. One thing we can all be sure of, Les Shirley are not a band you want to sleep on.

Rapha (vocals) tells the exciting story of how they got booked with the Foo Fighters, “It’s an incredible opportunity! We can barely wrap our heads around the fact that this was a request from the Foo Fighters themselves (as told by their mgmt). We got a message on our Bandcamp page titled, ‘foo fighters’. At first, we laughed it off thinking it was a scam. But, after googling the name and company from the email, we realized it was legit!!! After that I answered back and gave my number, management called me from their office in LA and told me that the band had listened to More Is More and loved it. They requested us to be direct support for the show.”

This summer and into fall, Les Shirley will be touring across Quebec with 12 dates in various cities including Donnacona’s Festival Secousses and Saint-Colomban’s Festirock. It just might be your last chance to catch the trio in clubs. Next time around they might just be rocking arena stages! All tour dates are below. Tickets here!

Last fall, the power trio consisting of Raphaëlle Chouinard (vocals, guitar), Lisandre Bourdages (drums), and Sarah Dion (bass) dropped their sophomore album More Is More independently. Listen to the record here! Joining forces with Montreal’s indie queen producer, Marie-Pierre Arthur (Karkwa, Galaxie, Ariane Moffatt, Stefie Shock, Nanette Workman & more!), the album redefines rock n roll as we know it by connecting the dots between 90’s grunge, 2000’s punk rock culture and catchy pop tunes with influences ranging from HAIM to Céline Dion. Breathing fresh air into the genre has taken the group to new heights. Singles“It’s Time”“Nothing Compares” and “Random Call” have seen exciting support from CBC Music, Sirius XM The Verge, Stingray, Montreal Rocks, Le Canal Auditif, Tabernak, Ici Musique, QUB Musique, Alan Cross, idobi Radio, CHOM 97.7, X929, and X100.7 to name a few. As well as adds on editorial playlists including the cover of Amazon Music’s “Fresh Rock”, “Ready To Rock ” (Spotify), “New Canadian Indie” (YouTube Music), “New Music Daily” (Apple Music) and more! Along with the impressive support from media on the singles, the band also embarked on their first-ever European tour, and an Ontario tour this past Spring. The tour dates received coverage from V13 Media, Quench Magazine, Montreal Guardian, Soft Sound Press and an Instagram Takeover via Toronto’s Spill Magazine.
