LIAM MACKENZIE & THE MOONDOGS RELEASE ROCK ‘N’ ROLL SHAKER “CIRCLE ON THE SUN” – LISTEN!

ONCE AGAIN HERE’S… EP OUT MAY 19TH, 2023

“Circle On The Sun”, the newest rock ‘n’ roll shaker from Victoria’s LIAM MACKENZIE & THE MOONDOGS is out today. The arena anthem is fitted with soaring choruses, swirling guitars, and fiery Southern vocals. Its infectious grooves will have you quickly singing along and dreaming of long weekends in the warm summer sun. The track is the third single off of the group’s EP, Once Again Here’s…, out May 19th. Listen to “Circle On The Sun” HERE!

“The song is an autobiographical account of my growing up and finding my way, carving out my own path, and finding myself as a young musician. Moving across the country, grinding through the musical wastelands, drugs, failed relationships, and all that comes with the coming of age in a rock’n’roll band, says Liam MacKenzie (frontman).

Comprised of past and current members of Jets Overhead, Leeroy Stagger, and the Jesse Roper Band and having opened for the likes of Big Sugar, John Fogarty, Wide Mouth Mason, and Keb’Mo in 2022, Liam MacKenzie & The Moondogs take cues from the heartland to the American South, mixing country, roots, and blue-eyed soul with hints of gospel. Once Again, Here’s… consists of four tracks in total with three singles “Circle On The Sun,” “Hazy Jane” and “Kentucky” being mixed at The Hive by Colin Stewart (Art D’ecco, Dan Mangan, Bedouin Soundclash) and masted in Toronto by Joao Carvalho (The Smashing Pumpkins, Alt J, Protest The Hero). The full EP was recorded between The Hive and Silverside Sound studios on Vancouver Island.

Last year, Liam MacKenzie & The Moondogs released the first single off of the EP, “The Mountain”. About the trials and tribulations of what it’s like to be a musician in today’s complex musical landscape, it has already seen impressive success being featured as 91.3 The Zone’s Band of the Month, and later securing regular rotation. It was mixed by Mike Fraser (Aerosmith, Sam Roberts Band, AC/DC, Metallica) and mastered by Maor Appelbaum (YES, Faith No More, Sepultura).

Prior to 2022, the group rocked star-studded stages across Canada and into the US with acts such as Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Thee Oh See’s, and Mudhoney to name a few!
