DEBUT ALBUM NOTHING LASTS FOREVER!, OUT OCTOBER 11
Today, lolitslea releases “Exit Plan” featuring guest guitar riffage from Tom Denney.
Lyrically and musically, it is a homage to nostalgia and youth as lolitslea taps into the 2008 punk and post-hardcore influences that are synonymous with the era and pines for the simplicity of her youth. The track showcases her vocal range with a soaring chorus and packs a punch with an A Day To Remember-esque breakdown provided by the band’s ex-guitarist Tom Denney himself.
When asked about the song, lolitslea says, “‘Exit Plan’ runs circles around the themes of liminal spaces, the backrooms, and realizing life will never be what it was back in 2008. Where my biggest regret in life was selling my Nintendo DS to a local pawn shop. This tune was co-produced and co-written by Tom Denney, formally from A Day To Remember.”
lolitslea is the epitome of bright, nostalgia-driven music for today’s youth (imagine if Artist Vs Poet or Hey Monday came out in 2024). Growing up in the small, yet touristy beach town of Point Pleasant, NJ, lolitslea was homegrown from all kinds of music from the Asbury Park alternative scene and Warped Tour era. Growing up in the small, yet touristy beach town of Point Pleasant, New Jersey, lolitslea was homegrown from every and all kinds of music that came out of the Asbury Park alternative scene and Warped Tour era. The independent artist has intertwined the boldness of punk and the colors of pop to bring back the bright sounds of the Neon Pop Punk scene we all grew to love in the mid-2000s. Think Artist Vs Poet or early Fall Out Boy.
