The lyric video of “Tears of blood”, the first song by Mike Bertoli’s Avatar, is available now on Youtube.
The first step of all personal growth paths consists in looking closely at our pain. When we stop denying it, we look for the most proper words to describe it and let it vent. All our masks fall down, we accept our tears and begin to bleed.
This is the story we hear from Rob Della Frera‘s voice, while the rhythm section by Giacomo Calabria‘s drums and Nik Capitini‘s bass guitar offers a sharp and powerful support to Mike Bertoli‘s guitars.
In a song that finds inspiration from the massive Megadeth and from the sophisticated Fates Warning, a guitar solo is almost mandatory: Luca Sellitto‘s expert hands have been relied on for this.
“Tears of blood” was born from a Mike Bertoli‘s idea, since he wrote all the guitar parts.
This song is the first track of the album “The giant within”, available on CD and on all digital stores soon. The album will be an Andromeda Relix release and will be distributed by MaRaCash.
The mastermind behind the Mike Bertoli’s Avatar project shows his interest in music when he’s only a child and he buys his first electric guitar at the age of 13. Because of some unsatisfying experiences with music teachers that couldn’t fulfil his craving for heavy metal, Mike keeps studying and practicing by himself and records a demo with his first band, the Sky Devils. He also keeps listening to tons of music: Iron Maiden, Metallica, Testament, Dream Theater, Fates Warning, Queensryche and many other bands that still give him inspiration. Mike joins his second band, ASTRAS, and they publish the album “Maze of time” for the label Stay Metal Records. The album is quite appreciated not only in Italy but also in the UK, where the band has the possibility to go on tour. The tour is canceled though, the band loses its enthusiasm and Mike leaves because of the disappointment and the frustration after a while.
The situation changes in 2020: Mike gets back his inspiration and starts writing new music again, guided by the great guitar master Nicolas Pandolfi and by the old friend Nik Capitini, also owner of the Red Wall Recording Studio. That’s how the project called Mike Bertoli’s Avatar sees the light with a very appropriate name, since the music fully reflects his personality. Everything’s ready for the release of his first album, in which many guests have contributed.
In “Tears of blood”, the first guest who jumps to the eye (or we’d better say to the ear) is Rob Della Frera: he’s the voice of the historic band Love Machine and he contributed by writing the lyrics and the vocal line.
Giacomo Calabria (GC Project, Psycho Livestock) has written and played the drums parts while Nik Capitini has played the bass guitar parts, mixed and the mastered the song.
Luca Sellitto, mastermind and guitarist of the historic band Stamina, has written and played the guitar solo.
