The Lockdowns have given us hardly any concerts in the last two years, but all the more new music. A good example is Mansions In The Sea, the new solo project of Sascha Blach, which is launched these days with the first video single “Disappear In The Clouds”. During the isolation period while writing songs for his rock band The Halo Trees, the busy Berlin-based musician often felt the urge to pick up his acoustic guitar and try his hand at quieter tracks. “I originally had no intention of starting another project, but the longer I worked on these songs, the more they became something of their own that had little to do with The Halo Trees,” he explains. With the exception of the violins, Sascha took over all the instruments and vocals himself. In addition to acoustic guitar, Sascha plays piano, mandolin, banjo, ukulele and cajon. The first album “Terra” will be released on July 1, 2022 via Winter Solitude Productions as CD and digital release. You can hear 13 folk songs that are vaguely inspired by the great masters of the singer/songwriter school from the ’60s and ’70s, yet bring something very unique and modern to the music – not least through the deep clear vocals and that sweet melancholy in the songwriting.
