Due to post-covid circumstances and the consequences of the war in Ukraine, the line-up for Nordic Noise 2022 has sadly undergone changes. TYGERS OF PAN TANG is one of the bands who will not be able to make it to this year’s festival and is instead re-scheduled for the 2023 edition of Nordic Noise, which is taking place in May next year. “The Tygers of Pan Tang deeply regret that they will be unable to play Nordic Noise this year. This is due to disruption to their plans for rehearsals resulting from the postponement of their Italian dates. The Tygers would not wish to perform a substandard show which may have resulted from playing live before their new guitarist and bass player were fully rehearsed with the band,” founding member Robb Weir says, and continues: “Nordic Noise is just about our favorite festival and cancelling it was a real tough decision to make. But it was in the best interests of everyone involved”.
To fill in for TYGERS OF PAN TANG, the festival moves up Swedish metal-band LIV SIN with the charismatic Liv Jagrell in front on the bill and have fellow Swedish hard rock band BATTERING RAM step in as the opening act on Friday the 6th of May at Amager Bio. German flagship BLIND GUARDIAN is the second band to sadly not be a part of the 2022 line-up. Swedish epic doom metal band SORCERER is added to the bill, on Saturday the 7th of May.
On the bill, we still find Swedish melo-deathers SOILWORK, who played their first post-covid show last weekend at the Royal Metal Fest in Aarhus, Denmark and impressed everyone with a concert full of positive energy. We are certain they will deliver a killer show at Nordic Noise 2022, too. Other bands, Nordic Noise 2022 “A Decade Of Noise” proudly present include Swedish iconic rockers ELECTRIC BOYS, US sleaze rockers KICKIN VALENTINA, Swedish boogie rockers TRANSPORT LEAGUE and Danish bands ARTILLERY (who will play their first 40th anniversary show), KONKHRA, MANTICORA, DETEST and THORIUM.
Presenters both days are the tag-team of Sofia Schmidt (ETHEREAL KINGDOMS) and Sonja Rosenlund Ahl (ARSENIC ADDICT), who are also both fronting their respective metal bands at the official Nordic Noise 2022 “A Decade Of Noise” pre-party Thursday the 5th of May at the venue High Voltage in Copenhagen. Admission to this concert is only for those who bought early bird tickets (more info soon).
Beside the concerts of 14 bands, Nordic Noise 2022 will also present a photo exhibition at Amager Bio during the festival of Nordic Noise since the very first year in 2013 up until today by Jakob Muxoll, who has been the house photographer for the festival in several years.
And the festival presents: DEKADON – the official Nordic Noise 2022 beer created with Dry & Bitter Brewing Company. David Perry from the brewery says:
“This soft and sessionable hazy IPA features notes of tropical fruit in both the aroma and flavour. A dry-hop of Simcoe and Citra on top of a body of oat and wheat gives you an easier drinking beer for the harder music, ideal for your festival chugging and celebrating!”.
The beer will soon be available at Zeppelin Rock Bar at a pre-party on the 16th of April where DJ’s will spin music from the decade of Nordic Noise and we will have special competitions with free merch, beer and tickers for the festival. Zeppelin Rock Bar will also host the official afterparties for Nordic Noise 2022. Friday the 6th of May, the members from LIV SIN will be DJ’ing and Saturday the 7th of May, the boys from KICKIN VALENTINA be the hosts. Both days from 23.00 to 03.00.
This year’s poster 2022 is called “The Royal Vapula” and was designed by Karsten Sand (Copenhell, Mercyful Fate, Volbeat). Official merchandise this year for Nordic Noise includes girlie panties, beanie, totebag, patch and t-shirt. Visit https://targetshop.dk/nordicnoise if you want to purchase already now.
