OCEAN DRIVE RELEASE NEW VIDEO FOR “COMATOSE” – WATCHHERE

Ocean Drive released their latest single, “Comatose,” on April 7th via Hell For Breakfast and today they unveil the accompanying video. The single marks the beginning of a fully assumed switch in Ocean Drive’s history and naturally, a visual representation of this seminal moment is a must, which the band delivers with force today. Darker and heavier than most current hardcore music, the band gave the track a powerful sound with aggressive vocal and instrumental changes, resulting in an extremely striking and poignant release. This video and track will hit home particularly with fans of bands like Alpha Wolf, Stray From the Path, Northlane, Void of Vision, Polaris, Currents.

On the video, the band comments:
“We are so excited to unveil this video and really enjoyed working with visual artist Dylan Gould to create a vibrant, energetic and eclectic visual atmosphere. We feel our vision is of the same calibre as bands like Polaris, Alpha Wolf, and other artists with a strong and clear visual identity to match their music and are pumped to share that with the world!”

Prior to the release of “Comatose,” the Montreal-based metalcore band dropped the ever-relevant single, “Losing Sight,” in November, 2021 in protest of government-sanctioned racism in Quebec. Watch the video HERE and stream the single HERE.

The single received high praise, being added to Spotify’s “New Core”, into rotation at idobi Howl and covered by press including Metal Heads Forever, The Tinnitist, The PRP and more. Symbolizing the collective responsibility in the surge of uprisings against Muslims and other racist movements in the Western World, the “Losing Sight” music video focuses on the idea that political decisions should reflect the right of every person to live a life without having to fear for their beliefs or their lives.

On the single, vocalist Antoine Beauchamp commented: “We in Quebec, and largely Canada, are not doing enough to prevent the increasing violence that is taking place. We need to take a hard look at our public system (political, educational, judicial, etc.) and do the needed work to reform it (or even abolish it). Losing Sight is our way to stand firm against outdated political and social messages.”

MORE ABOUT OCEAN DRIVE:
From traditional metalcore to modern themes and for fans of Knocked Loose, Wage War and Code Orange, Ocean Drive’s sound is in constant evolution. The group is always experimenting and polishing themselves. The single was mixed and mastered by Lance Prenc (Polaris, Alpha Wolf, Dealer, Diamond Construct, etc.). With a new lineup and a clearer idea of the genre they want to explore, Ocean Drive is building their future and looking forward to what the band will one day become.

They released their first EP “Snowpiercer” in May 2019 which instantly gained a lot of attention from the local heavy music scene.
