The fifth record of the Hungarian extreme groove metal band is out now under the name Deviant. The co-producer and mixing/mastering engineer was once again the well known Danish producer Tue Madsen (Meshuggah, Suicide Silence, The Haunted, etc.), with whose participation in 2018 the band won the “Best Studio Production of the Year” award at the Hungarian HangSúly Music Awards with their Trinity album. For the first time in the band’s career, they signed to a Hungarian label, Metal.hu Records, under whose wings the new record lands, an impressive 8-panel DIGIPAK CD and two types of Vinyl editions. In addition to the highly successful first singles such as My Sphere, Mindreader or Stench Of Demise, you can hear songs such as the revised and re-recorded version of Molecular Torsion (known from the debut album Iapetus), or the song called Indoctrinated, in which the American singer Sean Zatorsky, known from Daath, Sinsaenum and Vented, can be heard.

Gergő Hájer (songwriter, guitarist, backing vocals) said the following about the new album:
“Our last album Metanoia received fantastic feedback from both the audience and the music press, so we felt that there was a lot of pressure on us to continue. This pressure dictated the most conscious method of songwriting and at the same time the most intense work pace for the new album. I believe that Deviant is a decent and innovative follow-up to the Metanoia record, a true reflection of Omega Diatribe’s current form.”

Then Ákos Szathmáry (bass player) continued:
“Those who follow the band’s everyday life may have already heard that Gróf Adolf (drums) and János Kelemen (guitar) recently joined us. In this way, two new worlds were added to the chemical during the studio process, which I think really put the cinnamon shavings and the cocktail cherry on top of the final product. This is our first record where we took the graphic design completely into our own hands, so it will be worth taking a look at the panels of the digipak version of the record, so that the experience become complete for the listener.”

And in the end, Milán Lucsányi (singer) acknowledged:
“Deviant is our darkest record so far, both musically and lyrically. Very straight, in-your-face and strict songs took places on the record, yet I feel like we managed to wander into places we haven’t been before. We’ve been practicing the new songs for months in rehearsals and we’re really looking forward to finally being able to get on stage with them, because we’re preparing a really massive set for you.”
